Providing food assistance ,encouragement and hope to families
Every month, many families in New York City fight hunger in their households. Since 2004, Brooklyn Rescue Mission has been helping families and individuals fight household hunger. Over 60 percent of people receiving food assistance have children who need food or nutritional assistance.
Most recently, at the Brooklyn Rescue Mission food pantry, a mother of three came and sought assistance. As a dedicated single mother, she works tirelessly, but her household rent has increased by over $ 400 a month. It has put a lot of pressure on her family to feed her children.
Many families have come to profoundly appreciate the support, which has provided them with hundreds of dollars' worth of nutritious foods every month.
When families receive help from the Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center (BRMUHC), it lifts a significant burden from their shoulders, allowing them to concentrate on their family's well-being and future.
